One October day, my husband and I decided to stop in Winterset, Iowa while in the area. It happened to be the Covered Bridge Festival weekend, of ‘Bridges of Madison County’ fame. I turned away from one of the bridges and this scene met me with its delightful dappled light and beautiful fall colors. This Iowa landscape made a wonderful painting subject and was the perfect way to bring respite and joy from the day-to-day.
